In-person part of the event is Saturday and Sunday 28th-29th June. In-person attendance on weekend is required. A virtual onboarding to hackathon for contestants will occur earlier in the week.

Underutilised crops are plants that have historically been overlooked by large-scale agriculture, despite offering valuable traits like climate resilience, nutrition, or low input needs. In the UK, examples include field beans (Vicia faba), marrowfat peas, buckwheat, lupins, and heritage grains like emmer and spelt — crops with real potential to diversify and strengthen our food system.
